Lee Mar Directors

Ari Segal, MSW

Ari became involved in working with the special needs community because of his lifelong exposure to his father’s pioneering work with The Guided Tour, Inc., a supervised vacation program for adults with special needs. In 1994 Ari became the Director of Camp Lee Mar. In 1998 Ari and his wife Abby welcomed Zachary into their family. Zachary, the oldest of Ari and Abby’s three children, has special needs and is a camper at Lee Mar. Zachary has enhanced Ari’s first-hand knowledge as to what other parents of special needs campers experience. Zachary has reinforced Ari’s mission of providing a growth-producing, memorable life experience for our children with special needs.

Lynsey Trohoske, BA

Lynsey has been at Camp Lee Mar since 1998, starting out as a general counselor. Lynsey now works year-round with the program interviewing new campers and families, hiring staff, and creating exciting summer programs! Lynsey ensures each camper’s program is tailored to their individual needs, and is in close contact with parents throughout the summer.

Laura Leibowitz, BA, M.Ed

Laura has been at Camp Lee Mar since 1982. Laura is a Special Education teacher in New Jersey where she resides with her husband Seth (whom she met at Lee Mar) and her three children. Laura is certified in school administration (Principal and Supervisor Certification). In addition to being Assistant Director, Laura is the Academic Coordinator at camp, as well as the Coordinator of the Camper Worker Program which provides career training and job preparation for our older campers. Laura is also the Unit Leader for the Senior Girls.

Ari, Lynsey and Laura work closely throughout the summer and year-round, and are known as one of the strongest teams in camping for children with special needs.
